Has it really been four months already? It feels like just a few weeks ago I was stepping off a night bus from Switzerland to Italy and looking up at a warm and crowded Florence for the first time in my life.
It was magical.
Backpack heavy and stomach empty, I weaved through the old streets, searching for my hostel, and managed to find it about thirty sweaty minutes later. (David Inn Hostel, truly nice, most wonderful host.)
I dropped my bag on my bed, got changed, and told my exhaustion to shut the hell up because I had a new city to explore. The first street I took led me to food, but honestly I think any street in Italy leads there.
AND ITALIAN FOOD IS INDEED AMAZING.
The second street I took led me to a monster of a cathedral.
Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiori is by far the most beautiful cathedral I’ve ever seen. It looks GIGANTIC at the core of those narrow old streets. It’s physically impossible to take one photo of the whole thing.
And the walls, I mean, what is this? It looks like they polish them with liquid gold and stardust every morning. It must’ve been so much work building this wonderful treasure!
I kept walking until I reached the bridge, and across it I found the place that the hostel staff had recommended me (Piazzale Michelangelo). I climbed up the stairs and bam, the most wonderful view of Florence right there before my eyes.
I cried.
(Kidding. But I was crazy tired from that bus ride, I really could’ve.)
I sat on the stairs and people-watched for a bit, and I am not shitting you, I saw four different newly-wed couples taking their wedding photos on this scenic spot in the span of precisely 36 minutes. There was basically a queue of puffy white dresses and tuxedos.
The last street I took led me to ice cream. What a weird coincidence? I mean I was in Italy? What are the chances! Ha! So I had to taste.
They were delicious.
Yes, I had two.
Don’t judge.
Bye.
Have you been to Florence?
What was your favorite thing about this city?
What would you want to see if you had the chance to go?
Let me know in the comments!
Ahhh finally a Florence post! This was even more amazing than I had expected it to be. Lol, I keep thinking about the married couples and cracking up.
Okay, is ice cream the same as gelato? If not, did you have gelato? (Yes, this is what I’m most curious about, sue me 😂).

Hahahaha okay so I honestly thought that gelato was like the italian word for ice cream but maybe I’m wrong and they’re two completely different things! XD If that’s the case I had gelato four times a day.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG THAT CATHEDRAL IS PHENOMENALLY PERFECT!!!! And that view of the city? Just…. wow. ❤
The Czech town of Telc is a popular spot for weddings. When I was there for a few hours, there were I think four weddings happening at the same time in a pretty close area (I'd say the size of two football fields, if that?) It was funny to see these parties almost on top of one another lol.

The cathedral, I KNOW RIGHT? ❤
Hahah yeah it’s always funny to people-watch, but moments like that are just so enjoyable haha.
Okay I just googled Telc and OMG it’s soooo pretty! I’m gonna have to go!

That cathedral is just beautiful! I haven’t written my Florence post yet but I’ve been there twice and would go 5 more times if I could! My favourite thing was probably seeing the street artists by the bridge and walking the side streets to find the perfect mushroom ravioli! ❤️
