Last month, I finished the first draft of my WIP, and it was really intense. At one point, I wrote 17 000 words in just a couple of days. Needless to say, I felt really empty and kind of depressed once it was over.
I wanted so badly to go back to the world of my book and write more dialogues between my characters, but I knew I had to get away from the story so I could come back to it with a fresh, editing eye.
So I went to the mountains.
More specifically, to Gaspésie National Park, in Quebec. Here’s my hiking/emptying-my exhausted-brain trip in photos.

That’s it for me!
Now I’m so ready to edit the hell out of that first draft!
What do you guys do to get over a writing hangover?
Let’s chat in the comments!

Sometimes it’s good to take a step away, to get a fresh perspective. Hope you can’t back refreshed and rejuvenated.

Absolutely! I’m more busy than ever though so reality was a bit of a shock haha. But it was absolutely refreshing! 🙂
